Last night Rob and I had dinner with Kate and Nick at the Ottoman Cafe in West End. Absolutely gorgeous Turkish food - we shared a platter of an assortment of dips with Turkish bread, and followed it up with delicious mains (two lamb, one chicken, one eggplant) and desserts (turkish delight, kelva, baklava).

Kate was particularly concerned about whether or not the famous belly dancer would be making her regular appearance at the restaurant - and luckily she did, as we were treated to the site of several drunk men attempting to echo the moves of the dancer (there was at least one buck’s party eating at the restaurant last night). After all Kate’s worrying about whether or not the belly dancer would show up, she then was even more concerned about not making eye contact with her so that no one from our table would be picked to get up and dance.

All in all a great evening out though, the Ottoman Cafe is highly recommended if you’re looking for some decent Turkish food in a nice atmosphere, with the potential for public belly-dancing humiliation.
