I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the frequency of sicknesses during holiday times. I’ve had tonsilitis and a head cold for close to two weeks now, and of course, I’m on uni holidays. Why I couldn’t have fallen ill a week before my last essay was due in I don’t know, perhaps my body was staying strong because it knew I was trying to finish something important. I’m convinced that bodies instinctively know when they can get sick - perhaps the relaxation of the mind on holidays is a signal to catch a cold, or perhaps we ignore the symptoms of illness until we have the time to deal with them. Perhaps it’s something more sinister - karma coming back to bite us for the times when we fake sickness to avoid work.
